Oxford dictionary defines "nurture" as: Care for and protect (someone or something) while they are growing. God tells us to do this with our children. Ephesians 6: 1-4 (NASB) reads: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
About 50 years ago, our government allowed lawsuits to prevail against prayer in public schools. With that battle won, those opposed to religion went on to have religious symbols removed from government property. Along with that, evolution began to be taught in the school systems as theory and even as fact.
It is true that persons who do not believe in deity have a right not to be forced to listen to prayers or have to see the 10 Commandments posted on the walls of government buildings or even hear broadcast prayers at sporting events. But very seldom does a challenge succeed that the agenda of the challenger does not become evident.
Imagine the United States in the 1950's when parents took their children to church and taught them morals based on biblical principles. There were murders. There were shootings.
Now imagine a generation brought up being told that they are simply and only the highest form of animal life on this earth. There is depression. There is mental illness. There are mass shootings. Do we not see the cause?
Do you have children? Do you believe in God? Do you want only good for your little ones? Bring them up in the nurture and discipline of the Lord!
