THE CHURCH OF CHRIST HAS NOT CHANGED
l) The one in the Bible!
2) Man wants to change the church.
3) Church has same Head (Jesus Christ). "and he put all things in subjection
under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church, which is his body,
the fulness of him that filleth all in all" (Ephesians 1:22-23).
4) Still the pillar and ground of the truth. "but if I tarry long, that thou mayest know
how men ought to behave themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the
living God, the pillar and ground of the truth" (1Timothy 3:15).
5) Still only one way to get into Christ's church. "For in one Spirit were we all
baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all
made to drink of one Spirit" (1Corinthians 12:13).
CONCLUSION
1) These have not changed. (repeat points)
2) Man's need of the gospel hasn't changed.
(1) "For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto
salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek"
(Romans 1:16).
(2) "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the
gospel to the whole creation. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he
that disbelieveth shall be condemned" (Mark 16:15-16).
(3) "and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord
Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire, rendering vengeance to
them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus: who
Shall suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the
glory of his might," (2Thessalonians 1:7-9).
3) The only remedy for sin is the Gospel.
