Keeping everything in context. It is comparing the old law (Testament) with the new law (spirit).
It is saying spiritual life vs. spiritual death.

In Rom. 7:1 -4 Gives us of an example of a Woman who is bound by the LAW to her husband , as long as he lives, but if the husband dies, she is free from that law.

Notices verse 6 : But now we are DELIVERED FROM THE LAW, that being DEAD wherein we were held: that we should serve in NEWNESS OF SPIRIT, and NOT IN THE OLDNESS OF THE LETTER.
