There are two Scriptures that come to mind,

John 1:1 " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God."

John 1:14 " And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father).

I would draw your attention to "In the beginning", since the Word is Jesus, ("the word was made flesh") and the Word was there in the beginning, with God ,and the Word is also God, that puts Jesus there in the beginning. How can one conclude anything else but the deity of Jesus. Does that not make him equal?
