How Would Jesus Vote?
What if Jesus were living on earth today, going about daily life as He did in the first century, for whom would He vote for President?
With no desire to make a political statement, and with no intention of speaking for a political party, for normally politics and preachers in pulpits should not mix. Yet, there are still some things that need to be stated and considered by decent, law-abiding, godly people regarding the upcoming election. Many differ on political issues, but we MUST agree on and submit to our Heavenly Father’s will in moral matters.
Solomon, in the long ago, declared this undeniable truth: “Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” (Prov. 14:34). Christians can not (with God’s approval and blessings) be involved in, nor support sinful actions and ways. Paul admonished the Corinthians (who also lived in a wicked, immoral environment) to “Awake to righteousness, and sin not…” (1 Cor. 15:34). He told them to “…come out from among them, and be ye separate…” (2 Cor. 6:17).
For a nation to be righteous, it must have righteous leaders (Prov. 25:6; 29:2). The Bible demonstrates that God will oppose rulers who support wickedness (Psalm 2:2-3, 10-12; Dan.4:24-32).
God is interested in our government. Read Romans 13:1-4, especially the phrase “the powers that be are ordained by God.” God is in control.
