START BELIEVING WHO GOD SAYS YOU ARE
Even if you don't believe in yourself, there is Someone greater who does. The next time discouragement kicks- in, stay confident with these ten things that God says about you.
1. YOU ARE A HEAVENLY CITIZEN
It's important to remember that we have dual citizenship on Earth. God reminds us that we are sojourners in a distant land. Heaven is our true, permanent home.
2. YOU ARE HIS CHILD
There's something liberating about belonging to God and being a part of His family. Being God's child means that He takes ownership of us, He accepts us and He validates our purpose and existence.
3. YOU ARE REDEEMED
While human nature may be intrinsically flawed, the Spirit that dwells on the inside has transformational power. Jesus reminds us, "Behold I make all things new."
4. YOU HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST
No longer do emotions have permanent control over desires, thoughts and speech. The Christian mind takes thoughts captive and holds them in captivity against the truth of God's Word. If it doesn't line up, it has to go.
5. YOU ARE SECURE
People pleasing and the "approval addiction" are signs of insecurity. God wraps the believer in His loving acceptance and fills the innate need for belonging.
6. YOU
ARE CHOSEN AND LOVED
God didn't have to love, He chose to love...it's who He is. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us that we would have that we would be able to have an on-going relationship with the Creator of the universe.
7. YOU
ARE HIS CO-WORKER
The Christian life is the laboring life. Yes, Jesus says His yoke is easy and His burden is light but there is still Kingdom work that the Father does through us and with us.
8. YOU ARE HEALED FROM SIN
Sin and death have no power over humanity. God gives mankind a way of escape through the sacrificial blood of Jesus.
9. YOU ARE MEANT TO HAVE A FULL LIFE
C.S. Lewis once said that "Joy is the serious business of Heaven." An abundant, full and joyful life is God's will
10. YOU HAVE ACCESS TO GOD
Jesus died to make a way for those to have access to the Father, which is the only way to have true relationship.
