"Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]." Romans 12: 2 (AMP)
A few years ago I was given this vision from out of the blue.
I was just making the bed one day and all of a sudden I had a picture in my mind of a forest. I was standing in the forest and my eyes were drawn to a fallen log. As I looked at this log I saw a stick insect moving across it. The moment I saw the stick insect move, the words came, "Just like this stick insect is on the log, so is the church. It has blended and adapted to its surroundings and environment so much that it's getting harder to see true Christianity." I thought, 'Wow!' Then came the words, "You can't tell many Christians about this because they're not going to like it." I listened to those words and didn't really share it with people. Over the years there's been the odd confirmation of this through various things I've heard and observed. It's only in the past year or so, that I have come to the realization that Satan was the one that whispered in my ear that day, not to say anything. I don't know why I did not see that before.
I feel I need to share this now, and believe God wants me to share it. I believe we need to heed the message in this.
