Our Covid Safe Plans for Indoor Worship beginning June 6, 2021
While many members have been able to complete their vaccinations, which have a high rate of protection for most people and the number of Covid cases is dropping greatly as we hoped and prayed, we still have groups like children that have no vaccines available yet, and others with cancer and other immune impaired conditions that vaccines have unknown or very low antibody results. We have tried to do our best to worship in ways that can protect everyone as much as possible and "love our neighbor, as ourselves." We also realize our that building is relatively small with a residential air handling system that can be a challenge to the prevent the spread of the airborne Covid virus, that is very contagious and is often asymptomatic. Furthermore, some of us have learned from our Houston doctors that variants are the dominant strains now so even people who had the original Covid virus, will be able to get these additional forms of the virus. And we know that very serious cases of Covid illness are still in our community.
Therefore, BEGINNING NEXT SUNDAY, JUNE 6, 2021 we begin meeting in the auditorium with these steps:
1.We will ask everyone to wear masks indoors, as we have been doing in our parking lot.
2.We will plan to space our seating in the pews by asking you to request a preferred spot for you and your household or family group. We will attempt to reserve that space for you, while keeping as socially distant as possible between family groups. WE WILL RESERVE SPACE FOR VISITORS, AS WELL.
3.We will aim to reduce the spread of germs by continuing to encourage hand sanitizer use and by not passing supplies or sharing items like songbooks, etc. (Please write your name in the front of the hymnal and bring it with you and take it home, like you do your Bible.)
4.There will be communion kits and the offering plate available in the foyer as you come in.
5.Everyone will be encouraged to come inside the building and be seated in your place so that others can get to their seat without crowding.
6.After worship ends everyone will be encouraged to try not to crowd in the aisles to allow room for people to leave safely. (Remember it is more safe to visit outdoors.)
7.We will begin our indoor meetings by ONLY HOLDING OUR 11:00am worship inside the auditorium at this time.
8.This will be a family worship time. Children will need to sit with their own parents throughout the service. Children will have individual tote bags at their seats with their name and supplies to read and color. Older children/youth will have totes and supplies for sermon notes. They can be kept in your pew and will be refilled weekly.
9.There will be no attended nursery at this time, but the nursery room at the end of the fellowship hall will be available for a PARENT or ADULT FAMILY MEMBER to care for their own young child, as needed.
10.As you consult with your doctor and consider what is best for your health and safety, please let us know if you will plan to meet and worship inside, or plan to wait and continue to meet in our parking lot, or on our Facebook online livestream service. Clint Rounsavall has been working hard on setting up for our inside worship with these additional options available in order to meet everyone's health needs.
We truly appreciate your patience as we try to do what is the safest and best for everyone! Thank you for your support! We hope that you are as pleased as we are to begin worship inside our building once again. See you next Sunday morning!
