Cornelius

Acts, chapters 10 and 11, tell of the conversion of Cornelius. Cornelius was the first person to become a Christian who was not a Jew. He was a Roman soldier. The Bible says he was a "devout man, and one who feared God with all his household who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always" (Acts 10:2). Could such good things be said about you? Cornelius was a very good man. Yet, he was LOST! His sins had not been forgiven! The Lord told Cornelius to send to Joppa for Peter. Peter would "tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved" (Acts 11:14). Peter preached Christ to them. He then "commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord" (Acts 10:48). Here was a man (Cornelius) who was religious. He was a good man. Yet he was a LOST SINNER! His sins had not been forgiven. He had to call for Peter to learn what to do be saved. Peter told him and his household to be baptized. When they were baptized, they were forgiven of their sins.
