WHY! - Campaign to Piedmont, Missouri - July 11th - 15th

From July 11th - 15th we will be going to Shawn's home town congregation, the Piedmont church of Christ in Piedmont, MO for a campaign. We will be door knocking and holding a one day VBS. This is a great chance to be a missionary here is the USA.

Dress Code:
We will representing the church on the trip so please dress accordingly. This includes wearing modest shorts or skirts and a nice shirt (t-shirts are ok if they are nice) for door knocking and VBS. It will be hot but we are working for a great cause!

Lodging:
We will be staying at a motel. We will have rooms reserved with several sharing a room. The motel is less than a mile from the church. More info here.

Cost:
The cost for participating is being kept to a minimum, $50 for each person, with the rest covered by the Walter Hill congregation. Some meals are provided and some are on your own. See the schedule for items that will cost money. They are marked with a "$." The extra total cost will not exceed $75.

What to bring:
Clothes for each day (modest clothes please).
Money for food (estimate $75)
Swim suit (the motel has a pool and we will go to the lake one day)
Bible (or course)
Bathroom bag

We will do whatever is needed to get the building ready including inside and outside work. We will also help spruce up the building in other ways including painting, minor repairs, pressure washing, and anything else needed. Many hands make light work! Please come up with a list and we will be ready to work!

We will doing a community service project to help the people of the town. If you can think of a project please let Shawn know.

If the folks there could have a large map of the areas we need to cover so we can get a "feel" for size and scope. Also smaller "zoomed in" maps breaking down the area into  neighborhoods or sections. Print each of these sectional maps several times so we can assign teams to roads and give that team their own highlighted map showing them exactly where to knock. Count the houses on a road so we can assign a team to work a road with about 20-30 houses per team. Look at time allotted for door knocking on the schedule to see how many houses are needed for each knocking session. We will have 5-6 teams from Walter Hill (please encourage your folks to join us!). If this is confusing we can go over it in person on Wednesday evening.
