Eric Dougherty was born in and grew up near Parkersburg, West Virginia. He and his wife Christy have worked with the Cherry Point Church of Christ since 2007. Prior to that they served with the church in Newport, NC, the Harmar Hill Church of Christ in Marietta, OH, and the North End Church of Christ in Parkersburg, WV. Eric and his wife Christy both attended Ohio Valley University in Vienna, WV where Eric graduated with a degree in Education. He also holds an M.S. in Science Education and a doctorate in Educational Leadership. When not directly involved with the work of the church he spends his time teaching science in a local public school and running on the beaches and in the pine forests.
