Gordon was born and raised in Michigan. He graduated from Corunna High School in Corunna, Michigan in 1966. He later attended the South Bend School of Personal Evangelism in South Bend, Indiana. After preaching for 23 years he enrolled in the Memphis School of Preaching and graduated in 1995. Brother Wonsey has preached in Michigan, Indiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Illinois and Zambia, Africa. He and his wife, Beulah served as missionaries in Zambia from 1996 to 2001. Both Brother and Sister Wonsey enjoy sharing many of the experiences in Africa with friends, family and Christians.

  The Wonsey's have been married since 1974 and have given their lives in many ways to serving the Lord from the beginning of their married life. Their work with the Paris Church of Christ began in November of 2003. They wish to extend an invitation to all to come visit with them and the Paris congregation at any time.
