"I Was Glad..."

"I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD"

Our nation has been reeling and suffering from a deadly virus for about a year now. Our way of life has been altered and even our worship services have been affected. Perhaps it is the case that in some ways we appreciate even more the joy of assembling and the blessings that flow from it. God gave us the Lord's church as we read about in Ephesians 3:10-11. "To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God. According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord." God designed the acts of worship that are acceptable to Him.

David lived and died under the old covenant. We live under the new covenant, which is far better. "But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises" (Hebrews 8:6). David was glad to worship his God under the rules and structure of the Old Testament. We rejoice and are glad to worship God under the rules and structure of the New Testament.

Many wonderful souls left this world because of the deadly virus. It is a time for healing and spiritual inspection. Let us search our hearts and let us be "glad" when we assemble to honor and worship the Lord God.

John 4:23-24 — "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. "

Philippians 4:4 — "Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. "

Psalm 122.1 — " I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. "
