        The Houston Astros unveiled their World Championship Banner at their home opener on Monday April 3^rd .  You have probably seen on the news shows that it did not quite go as they had planned it, but, to be fair, they have never had to unveil a World Championship Banner before.

        The Astros began life as the Houston Colt 45's in 1962, and it took them 55 years to win a world series.  Along the way there were some highs and lows for the team and their fans.  They made it to the playoffs occasionally, only to be disappointed and go home.  During the period of 3 years from 2011 through 2013, they lost more than 100 games per season.  In 2014 they improved and only lost 92 games.

        Yet, the Astros never lost hope, their faithful and loyal (emphasize loyal) fans never lost hope and in 2017, the Astros won the World Series and became the World Champions of Baseball.

        There is a lesson in this for the people of God.  The church goes through highs and lows, good times and bad times, but Paul promises us in Galatians 6:9, "And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap if we faint not."
