Be Prepared
Be Prepare Introduction: With summer coming on we start to make plans for vacations. As we do so we want to make sure that everything is in proper working order, so that we don't have any trouble as we go. One of the major things that we see about is the car, we want to make sure that everything is in good working order, that way we can make to the destation that we want. The same is true for the Christian we want to make sure that all parts of the Christian life is working in order for us to make it to our destation. 1. Adjust your lights: so others can see your good works Matt 5:16 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (KJV) 2. Set your timing:so as to be on time in assembly every time Heb 10:25-26 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, (KJV) 3. Tune- up your heart: and have peace that passes understanding. Phil 4:7 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (KJV) 4. Align your direction: that you may be able to steer yourself up the straight and narrow without a wreck. 1 Pet 2:21 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: (KJV) 5. Adjust your brakes: on your tonuge, it is in a slippery place. James 3:2-13 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. 13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. (KJV) 6. Tune your mind: so as to think on pure, holy, and noble things. Phil 4:8 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (KJV) 7. Anti-freeze your heart: by being fervent in spirit serving the Lord. Rom 12:11 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; (KJV) 8. Lubricate your Spirit: with the oi of gladness. 1Thes 5:18 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (KJV) 9.
