From My Heart... To Yours"Mistreating God"Pt. II
Have you ever thought about how we may be mistreating God ? You may say to yourself; I don’t mistreat God, I have great love and respect for Him. Let’s take a look at a few things. [2]Departing From
Heb 3:8 -12 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness, Where your fathers tried me by proving me, And saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was displeased with this generation, And said, They do always err in their heart: But they did not know my ways; As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. Take heed, brethren, lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God:
Falling away from God, Why does it happen? What can we do to stop it. In Jeremiah 10:23 it states "
O Jehovah, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps." We sometimes feel we know which way is best for us, but as the Bible says we are not capable of directing our own way. This doesn’t mean that we can’t direct our earthly lives such as where we work or how we plan for the physical future. Man is not able to direct himself in the right direction spiritually. We need a guide, that guide is God’s Word.
Isaiah says in "
55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Now the question is this, if we can’t think on the same level as God, how can we direct our own steps? The answer is we cannot. From my heart... to yours
