From My Heart... To Yours

I am starting a new article series called "From My Heart to Yours". I have a great love for God, Christ, Holy Spirit, the Gospel and for this congregation. There are a lot of things that are on my mind that concern me and I am going to use this article to let you know what they are. I want you to know that I write this because of the love I have for you and your families. I am concern about our attendance on Sunday nights, some folks don’t see the need to return for more spiritual fulfillment. I don’t know your situation, but I want to relate some things for you to think about. I know that the price of gas is high and keeps going up, but is that a reason to miss services on Sunday night. We make sure we go to the store or to the doctor. We make sure that we go see family and make trips to the mall or ballgames. We make sure that the kids get to their school activies and there are a lot of other things that we can list. You may say to me that these things are important and I know that they are, but are they more important than your soul? God expects us to provide for our families, but He also expects us to serve Him. Listen to what the scriptures say about God and jealousy

1Co 10:21-22 "Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?"

Deu 32:16 "They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger."
