History

     The Union Grove congregation has been around for a long time- since 1885, to be exact. Several of the original members came from Antioch church of Christ, which began meeting a year earlier just a few miles down the road in Polk County, TN. In its early days, in legal documents Union Grove was called "the church of Christ in the Thirteenth District", but the designation "Union Grove Church of Christ" was commonly used by the 1890's.
