This discussion was held in the Christian Church in Bardwell, Ky., March 30 and running 4 days.
For two days bro. Thompson affirmed: the scriptures teach that Christians should oppose the use of instrumental music in the worship of the church of Christ. J. S. Dean affirmed for 2 days: the scriptures authorize such institutions as the Foreign Missionary Society, the Illinois Miss. Soc., etc.
This whole debate was conducted on a high plane and attended by large crowds, and closed with good feelings on both sides. Primitive Christianity will be helped in this community. Bro. Thompson is a young man of splendid ability as a debater and preacher. The Lord's church is delighted in his work in the debate.
