The debate was well attended and brethren generally were satisfied with bro. Jones defense of the truth. Still, bro. Jones was too easy with Erwin for 3-4 nights. But he took a hold of him on the 5th evening and Mr. Erwin began to weaken. Mr Erwin is unfair in debate and abusive to his opponent. His arguments on John 3:5 says, "There were two births, one, the natural birth and the other, the spiritual birth," and "born of water: means natural birth. He made this argument when bro. Jones had no chance to reply. Erwin said bro. Jones was one of the nicest men he had ever met in debate and was one of the best posted men on the scriptures that he ever saw. We think that good will come from this debate.
