Dear Brother:
As Bro. Brigance is sending you a challenge at our suggestion, we desire to add a few words. Evidently you are aware that the cause of Christ is being murdered by divisions in the Mount Hermon Community; that the Bible condemns such; that Solomon says God hates the man who causes division; that Christ's prayer in John 17 is being made void; that somebody will have a fearful account to render in the judgment day. Now it is a fact that if you are right we are wrong and vice versa. If we are wrong, we want to get right. Now, should you be unwilling to meet Bro. Brigance in debate at Mount Hermon, if you have a man in all your ranks whom you will endorse, who will accept that challenge or otherwise affirm that your teaching and practice about which we differ is scriptural, bring him forth, as Brethren Kurfees, E. A. Elam, A. G. Freed, N. B. Hardeman, John R. Williams and Joe S. Warlick have kindly promised us to gladly meet any 'digressive' preacher who has the moral courage to affirm his practice.
