General church was discussed. Bro. Douthitt was equal to the occasion at all times. I have attended a number of debates, but have never seen a man in debate get into as many tangles over his doctrine as did Mr. Newsom. He is a very boastful fellow, but delivering the goods is another matter. There was a large attendance on both sides, including many preachers. During the debate Bro. Douthitt signed with A. U. Nunnery for a six-day debate in Parsons. This will be held about the first of October if Mr. Nunnery sticks to his guns.
