W. T. Boaz vs Horton (Seventh-Day Adventist)

Held at Nashville, Tennessee. Drew large crowds and was interesting. Elder Horton led all the week: "The Sabbath of the decalogue is binding on Christians of the present day." One serious defect was Horton's failure to define his proposition. Mr. Horton tried to show that God's covenant with man had been the same in all ages, and that as the Sabbath commandment was in the covenant, it is, therefore, binding on all men today; but his contention was fully met and overthrown by Bro. Boaz. Mr. Horton is inexperienced in discussion while Boaz has had years of experience. The debate passed off quietly except for the third evening when Horton's moderator, Mr. McVey repeatedly interrupted Bro. Boaz's speech. The brethren were well pleased with Bro. Boaz's defense. Bro. H. Leo Boles, of Nashville Bible School, will publish a full report of the debate later.

H. Hoover, Ashland City, Tennessee; L. B. Jones, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Price Billingsley, Abilene, Texas; H. C. Shoulders, Bowling Green, Kentucky; last, but not least in debate, Joe S. Warlick, Dallas, Texas. Besides these, about 20 Nashville preachers.
